Approximately 50 million American adults suffer from tinnitus; a condition that affects hearing.
Often referred to as "ringing in the ears," this noise is also heard as buzzing, chirping, whistling or roaring.
In some cases, the ear ringing can become so severe that it becomes debilitating.
Ear ringing tinnitus may be the result of ear injury or age-related hearing loss, or it may be an indication of circulatory disease.
