The Homoeopath in Action

Homoeopathic remedies are produced in a manner that is quite different to that of conventional allopathic drugs. Whilst there are many large homoeopathic medicine companies (such as the French Boiron Group) that use automated techniques, we prefer to use the process that has been so effective for us in the past.

Below, you can learn a little more as to how the remedies are produced.

Increasing Remedy Potency Using Trituration

All T-Gone Remedies are prepared by hand. This process is time consuming and involves the following:

Trituration is the grinding of substances such as plants, herbs and powders using a mortar and pestle. It is the primary mode of mixing the ingredients used for in preparation of powdered dilutions in homeopathy. 

Trituration produces a potentization of the remedy.

Potentization is thus the process of increasing the potency of a substance by progressive dilution, succussion in the case in liquids or trituration in the case of solids.

Succussion and trituration release the healing essence of the substance (derived from an animal, botanical or mineral source) and concentrate it, while the dilution removes the physical presence of the substance itself

The process of potentizing a tincture by trituration is illustrated below. As is clear, this is a very labor intensive process.

Increasing Potency Using Succussion

Succussion is the process of agitating a freshly diluted solution by rapping its container hard against a hard but elastic object such as a leather-bound book.

Succussion releases dynamic forces from the diluents which are preserved and intensified with subsequent dilutions.

Homeopathic Preparations and Decimal Potency

One starts with the MOTHER TINCTURE and the DILUENT (distilled water)

Mix 1 part Mother Tincture to 9 parts Diluent to create a 1X Potency

1/10th of the original concentration

Mix 1 part 1X Potency to 9 parts Diluent to create a 2X Potency

1/100th of the original concentration

Mix 1 part 2X Potency to 9 parts Diluent to create a 3X Potency

1/1000th of the original concentration

This process is repeated until the desired potency is required. The higher the potency, the more diluted the original mother tincture becomes.

T-Gone ^® Tinnitus Remedies are typically supplied at potencies of 10X to 15X.

When remedies are potentised to 100X they become known as 1C, 2C etc. (Centecimal Potency)

At this stage the original Mother Tincture is dissolved beyond solution. i.e. There are no molecules of the original Mother Tincture left in the dilution.
