My tinnitus details are:

- Female, 49 years old, in very good health, very active.
- I have had this for about 2 1/2 years: started in July 2003.
- I don't remember any actual blows to the head although I was hit in the face with a softball about 6 years ago.
- Also, many years ago playing basketball(in the 1970's), I was hit several times in the face but nothing that I thought was very serious.

- I have never really liked loud music or loud bars, etc. I have always preferred music and the tv to be very quiet.
- Other sections above that could apply to me include the TMJ tinnitus. I am currently wearing a dental orthotic to balance my bite(wearing it since April 2004). The dentist told me the orthotic would most likely cure the ear ringing but it has not. The other symptoms I had been experiencing have dissapated since wearing the orthotic: neck muscle soreness and tightness, jaw clicking and popping. The only thing that remains is the tinnitus, which is by far the most annoying.

- The noise is in both ears but the right side is a little louder than the left side.
- I can turn my head to one side or the other and the pitch will change.
Also,
- I can just be sitting still and the pitch in the right ear will go to a very high tone and then it goes back down.

- Sounds vary: ringing, humming, buzzing, high pitch tones, pulsating.
- I've noticed that after I've driven in my car for a long time(2 or more
hours) and then get out, the noise seems to be greater.
- I've been to medical ENT doctors....I don't remember all of the details but they basically said I need to just live with it. I did't like that answer so I'm looking for other alternatives.
- I've tried chiropractors and acupuncture but to no avail.

- I have also had a runny nose and sinus drip in the past few years. Have NEVER had an issue with that until the past few years. Is this connected to the tinnitus???
- Ears get plugged a lot (or seem to). Sometimes when I speak, it's like there's an 'echo' in my right ear.
- Sometimes it feels like there is presssure in my head when I bend over or put my head down.
