Stress is generally related to both internal and external factors. Internal factors help determine how your body will respond or deal with external factors. It influences the person’s ability to handle stress and it includes a person’s over all health, fitness, and emotional stability.
External factors involve the environment, work, relations with others, home, challenges and difficulties that confronts you daily. When we talk of stress management techniques, it means altering or making changes with the external factors that affect you or the internal factors that enhances your ability to deal with stress at it comes.
There are some stress management techniques that are really proven to be effective and we have listed them below:
• EXERCISES - regular exercises helps a person in managing emotional stress. Having a fit body also increases a person’s capability in dealing with stress.
• RELAXATION AND MEDITATION - the most popular types of relaxation and meditation techniques are usually learned with a trainer, but it is also possible for an individual to learn relaxation and meditation on their own. Examples of structured relaxation programs are biofeedback, autogenic training, meditation techniques, imagery, qigong, progressive muscle relaxation, yoga, and tai chi.
• TIME MANAGEMENT – good time management is effective in managing stress. This means knowing a person’s priorities and avoiding making commitments that cannot be met. Knowing your own limit and what you can accomplish over a period of time will help you avoid conflicts with your schedule and possibly tiring your own body.
• ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS – one of the most important stress management tips is having organizational skills. Some people have developed the habit of keeping their things in order. This way whenever they would need something, they can easily find what they are looking for. Being unorganized will mean getting upset while looking for something you can’t find and this gives a lot of stress.
• SUPPORT SYSTEMS – those who have a very big support system, meaning lots of friends to open up to and talk problems with, have lesser physical and emotional symptoms of stress. Sometimes a mere releasing of the feelings that bothers you to someone that you can trust does a lot of help to calm you down. Take time to socialize
Stress can cause awful problems with health and at extreme cases it may cause death. The above-mentioned stress management techniques may give a favorable result but they must be use for guidance only and when the case of stress is severe, the problem must be consulted with a professional.
