Jim asked:

None of the tinnitus categories seem to fit. I have a high pitched ringing in the right ear only. Started about 3 months ago.

Have not had any exposure to loud noises, no ear wax removal, no injuries, no sinus problems, no alergies, no trauma, no known auditory nerve damage, no recreational drugs, no heavy metal poisoning, no ear drum damage, no vertigo, no nausea, no viral infections, not TMJ.

Just constant ringing in the right ear with no change or pulsing.

Our Response:

Hello Jim,

I see that you do take vioxx, ultracet, reminyl, folic acid, vit b6, valtrex and lexapro on a regular basis.

It is my opinion that it is perhaps one of these presciption drugs that is causing the tinnitus.

Vioxx ceratinly does list tinnitus as a side efect and it could well be that this is the root cause of your tinnitus.

Jim, please click here to read my reply which is fairly detailed, but I do implore you to read the reply in full as it will give you a very good insight into tinnitus from presciption drugs as well as how best to deal with this chronic condition.
