Cathy asked:

My tinnitus details were a chirping at first and now the tinnitus is a ringing in both ears. I have never had any problem like this before. I am a chronic pain patient. I have had 7 back surgeries and then was hit by a truck right after the 7th back surgery. While trying to treat my pain my doctor tried me on almost every pain medicine available. We are still trying to find a "cocktail" that will work on me. However, because of my depression he first gave me Lexapro which didn't help, so he then gave me Zoloft. I took Zoloft for 4 Zoloft pills. I believe it was one pill once a day. I became violently ill and began throwing up. When I threw up I had this "pressure" in my head that sounded like crikets chirping...this continued until now it is constant ringing. My doctor said he is able to see fluid "behind" my ears mostly on the right. He started me on Sudafed which didn't work and then Benydryl at night which didn't help. He then prescribed Prednisone for one week. I am afraid to take the prednison because of all the other meds I'm on. I'm seeing a new pain specialist in the next couple days for a consult regarding my back pain and RSD. I decided to wait to see this new doctor before thinking about using prednisone. PLEASE...if there is anything out there to stop this ear ringing...PLEASE tell me about it. The tinnitus literally is driving me NUTS!!!! Medications taken - Dilaudid, Vicodin, Soma, Klonopin, Digoxin, Premarin, Lasix, Restoril and the 4 days of Zoloft that made me sicker than a dog (did I mention Soma? I am using Benydryl at night but frankly don't know why. I had a root canal almost 2 years ago. No side effects...the procedure was to save an anchor tooth (the very back molar that was holding my permanent bridge on)

Our Response:

Hello Cathy,

Unfortunately is common for chronic pain patients to be given a whole host of prescription medications in an effort to control the pain. Your doctor will indeed sometimes prescribe a cocktail of drugs to be used in conjunctio with each other.

It often happens that your body rejects certain of these medications and all manner of side effects including tinnitus can occur. This reaction is the result of toxins that are left in the body that need to be flushed from your system.

We have developed a tinnitus treatment remedy that is specifically formulated to deal with this type of tinnitus and I have discussed this in greater detail below.

Cathy, please click here to read the rest of my reply which is fairly detailed, but Cathy, I do implore you to read the reply in full as it will give you a very good insight into tinnitus from presciption drugs as well as how best to deal with this chronic condition.
