Hyperacusis: I have tinnitus in my right ear. i don't have any real idea of why it started. I have had the tinnitus for about 8 years.

My tinnitus is a ringing, which is sometimes high pitched which usually only lasts for a short time. But at other times (all the time) it just constantly rings in my ears.

Lately I have also had a what sounds like music happening. I also have an actual vibration (movement) that produces a noise. This one is very distressing.

Also i have lately had very high sensitivity to surrounding sounds, but low hearing of people's voices. I have a list here!! but i am hoping you can help. Thanks a lot

Hello Dianna,

The condition you are experiencing is known as Hyperacusis, which can best be described as a reduced tolerance to noise.

This is caused from cochlear damage and it is normal to also experience tinnitus and some hearing loss with hyperacusis.
