Hyperacusis: The tinnitus started in the left ear at first. I noticed it after playing music with a polka band (medium loud). My left ear faced the drummer and it would seem to "shut down" and drop to a lower sound level after playing awhile. Went to a hearing specialist who fitted me with 15dB musicians earplugs, but couldn't stand to wear them.

Sometime later, the "whistle" became permanent in the left ear. Later yet, the tinnitus noise now also occurs in both ears.
As a tuba player, I have regular appearance of a cancor sore on the lip (same location every time), in which Lysine helps. Have had a sebatious cyst on the cheek escised and drained. Most recently, a chalazion has appeared on the eyelid and is being treated.

Hello Robert,

Thank you for the excellent description of your tinnitus and the history behind it. This makes it so much easier for me to help you choose the correct tinnitus relief remedy. Obviously this is important, one cannot expect effective lasting relief from tinnitus if the correct tinnitus relief medication is not taken.

The fact that you are in the music industry and are exposed to loud music, confirms that you are definitely suffering from Cochlear damage induced tinnitus. This cochlear damage induced tinnitus is often accompanied by Hyperacusis and hearing loss in the higher frequencies.

We have an excellent tinnitus relief course of treatment for Hyperacusis and tinnitus, which has helped many people worldwide achieve relief.

Robert, you will find detailed information regarding Hyperacusis and tinnitus, below.

Thanks for your cogent reply, John.

However, I have concern about your diagnosis after reading your information--

1. I have NEVER had any discomfort with either ear.

2. I have NEVER had an occasion where everyday noises sound unbearable or painfully loud.

3. Hearing exams have shown that I have what was referred to me by one doctor as a "shooters notch" -- a dip in the hearing curve around 3000 Hz; although I have never done a lot of shooting except in the military 40 years ago.

4. I worked in a sawmill for 2 years while going to college, but had no hearing problems or tinnitus until many years later.

Obviously, I want to be exceedingly cautious with the proper diagnosis prior to selecting any particular type of treatment! Your confirmation appreciated!

Hi Robert,

You had originally selected Hyperacusis when you sent your questions so I naturally assumed that you you were sensitive to noises in addition to the tinnitus you experience.

The dianosis remains esentially the same, it is almost certain that cochlear damage, probably sustained whilst playing in the band, or possibly from exposure to loud noises whilst in the military or at the the sawmill, is the root cause of your tinnitus.

In view of the length of time you have had this damage it is my recomendation that you will need at least a 12 week supply of the Type 4 tinnitus treatment for cochlear damage to adequately treat your tinnitus.
