Client asked:
Meniere's Disease: My ENT specialist does not think that it's meniere's disease since my symptoms are contant and sporadic like meniere's. I started ringing in my right ear on Jan.8, 2004. Within a 1/2 hour, I lost most of my hearing in my ear as well. The first 2 weeks were really tough. I had extreme dizziness day and night, and would throw up because it was so bad.
After that, the symptoms for the dizziness were more at night when I lay my head down. Sometimes the dizziness would happen during the day as well, but overall it's about 10 seconds after I lay down. The ear ringing is constant, and I get alot of high pitched noise throughout the day which is hard to deal with.
I was but on viral pills and steroids for a month, but that was after 5 weeks after Jan.8 I had a CT scan and an MRI done, and nothing was found to be abnormal. I also saw a neurologist, who told me everyone had ringing in the ears!! He said whatever happened to me is done, so if it happens again to go back and see him.
It's not done!! I deal with all this everyday, and the tinnitus and dizziness has affected me in many ways. I thought maybe viral, but also my left part of my neck hurts alot.
I've had neck pain for a few years due to my ex choking me. The neck pain is usually always there, but I have bouts that are intolerable for about 3 to 4 days and it gives me migraines,, always on the same side as the neck pain.
I don't know if this could a reason or not. I would appreciate any advice or any direction you can give me. I live in a small rural part of Northern Maine, and I am very limited in this area for any help. Please do what you can do. Thank you for taking the time to ready this.
Sincerely, Janice
Our Response
Hello Janice,
I would like to state right here and now that I find it absolutely amazing that your ENT doctor could come to the conclusion that you are not suffering from Meniere's Disease!
Let me briefly run through the symptoms of Meniere's Diease:
Vertigo or dizziness
Nausea
A feeling of fullness or pressure in the ears
Loss of hearing
Tinnitus
Do those symptoms sound familar Janice?
I think it I can say with a fair degree of certainty that you are suffering from Meniere's Disease.
You can start to get quite a good deal of control over the dizziness, vertigo and nausea right away by following a low salt diet.
We do have very good success treating Meniere's Disease by following a multi-faceted approach where you take two separate Meniere's Disease treatment remedies and following a special diet.
