Exposure to cannon fire in the military caused tinnitus...
Gerald Masucci asked:
I was in the us army artillery. I was exposed to 155 howitzer fire for two years on without ear protection. My exposure started in 1959 and ended in 1967. I have suffered with tinnitus ever since.
Our Answer:
Hello Gerald,
From the data supplied it is indeed obvious to me that the root cause of your tinnitus just has to be cochlear damage as a result of exposure to the howizer fire over such a prolonged period.
This is the most common cause of tinnitus, and it is also the tinnitus type with which we have most success.
Most folk don't know that there are millions of wee nerve endings within the cochlea that are stimulated by the great pressure of sound waves that are caused by external noises.
This stimulation stimulates movement of those minute hairs, similar a field of wheat rustling in time with a breeze.
As sound is perceived by your ear and the minute hairs wave around, impulses go streaking through the auditory nerve which your brain interprets as noise.
The delicate nerve cells and the microscopic nerves get damaged easily when you are exposed to loud noise over a period of time. The damage is all the more worse if you have worked in a noisy environment over an extended period of time.
Those sensitive inner ear organs like the auditory nerve cells and hairs most often get damaged from a bad knock on to the head. The tiny hairs often get bent out of shape or even chopped-off and then send electrical impulses randomly directly to the brain which interprets them as a noise, even though there might be an absence of sound.
A damaged cochlea which can cause to tinnitis can often result from:
botched ear wax removals
ear candles
diving accidents
sports injuries
surgery to the head, ears or nasal passages
ear infections
High frequency loss of hearing is irremediable however the T-Gone remedies are very successful dramatically lower the tinnitus from cochlea damage.
So Gerald, you have every reason to be optimistic about getting some tinnitus relief.
