First, the tinitus I have came from an 'otidis media' which is an infection of the middle ear as you know. The tinitus sound was only in the infected ear for the first 3 weeks. After some therapy like infusions and Trental tablets the sound was nearly gone when the other ear started also.
I now have some sort of hissing and sometimes whizzing sound in the whole head which changes volume over the day. At evening and in the first part of the night the tinitus sound level is the highest, in the morning its usualy lower.
