Tinnitus started about 5 to 6 years ago and has gotten gotten worse in last 2 years; the tinnitus has become intolerable in last 6 months. The tinnitus noises I hear are a VERY long buzzing /ringing noise. About 25 years ago had ear infections and Dr. said my eardrum was torn; I also work in a very noisy main-frame computer room for about 12 years.

Hello Pat,

I do not believe that your tinnitus is as a result of a torn eardrum. Your tinnitus is far more likely to be caused from cochlear damage as a result of continued exposure to loud noise in your work place.
