Client Asked:
Tinnitus for 3 weeks. The tinnitus noises are a clicking in my lower right ear. The noise occurs intermittently. Had a complete examination and I was told my hearing is exceptionally good for my age with no pathology. There is a 5% decrease in high frequency sound in my left ear. I have had considerable stress in the last 2 months;took asprin for a backache for 3 days, 8 326mg tablets per day; experienced a loud noise, with no immediate effects.
Extensive root canal in the lower left side which resulted in an extraction and a bridge. An extraction in the upper left side with no replacement and this occurred about 2 months before the onset of tinnitus. Another extraction in the lower left side and the installation of a bridge in that area which occurred about 2 months prior to the onset of tinnitus
Our Response:
Hello Ike,
The tinnitus is likely being caused as a result of some cochlear damage as a result of the exposure to noise and possibly the dental surgery you have had. Tinnitus does not always start immediately after exposure to noise or whatever it is that has caused the cochlea damage. A little known fact is that there are thousands of diminutive hairs in the inner ear that are affected by the great pressures of sound waves caused by external noise.
As and when an external noise is detected the tiny hairs move and send signals through the auditory nerve which is interpreted as a noise by your brain.
Agition then result in a stirring of all those minuscule hair nerve cell, much like a field of wheat on a farm shifting in time with the wind.
The cilia in the inner ear are easily damaged from the pressures generated by extreme blasts of sounds. The inner ear damage is made worse if you have played in a band or have worked in a noisy factory for a long time.
Any type of surgery to the head can also result in noise induced tinnitus.
Loss of hearing is not reversible but our cochlear damage remedies have successfully reduced the tinnitus levels of many thousands of tinnitus sufferers.
