Tinnitus....
Client Asked:
I have tinnitus from loud noises
Our Response:
Hello Alan,
I am sorry to hear about your tinnitus condition and will certainly do my best to assist you in achieving relief from tinnitus.
More and more of our clients are indicating exposure to noise as the cause of tinnitus. When an external sound is heard the thousands of little hairs in the cochlea are stimulated.
As and when an external noise is detected the minute hairs sway and send impulses via the auditory nerve which is interpreted as a noise by your brain.
The agitation of the hairs in the cochlea can be likened to a field of long grass rippling in time with the breeze.
The hairs in the cochlea are easily broken from the pressures generated by sudden bursts of sounds. Obviously those that are unfortunate enough to work in a very loud environment or frequent very noisy pubs over a period of time will suffer further damage.
The cochlea and its delicate structures are also damaged by a strong blow to the head Our cilia often get bent out of shape or broken and then randomly send impulses directly to the brain which interprets them as a sound, although there is no sound present.
Noise related cochlear damage tinnitus which can cause a ringing in the ears often is a result of ear wax removals, a procedure known as ear candling, swimming incidents, hurting yourself playing sports, dental surgery.
Damage to hearing is most certainly incurable however the tinnitus treatments have been very successful at dramatically and permanentlylowering the tinnitus levels from a damaged cohlea.
