Thank you for your e-mail in response to my enquiry about tinnitus. I am surprised to receive information in this way. I'm fairly new to Internet. I know exactly when it started though not the date. I was in a public building and the volume of the music being played was extremely loud to the point of causing pain. I have had ringing in my ears ever since. I suffer occasionally from sinus infections and hay fever but not often. I may have been taking hay fever medicine at the time the tinnitus started but I don't remember. Now I only take it infrequently. I am not usually sensitive to noises although one of my favourite occupations used to be to listen to the silence in the countryside. I do not suffer from dizzy spells. I do have diabetes but I don't think it is related. I take tablets for that but not insulin. I hope this information will enable you to help me.

Hello Mary,
Your tinnitus has obviously been caused from exposure to noise. What happens when you are exposed to a sudden loud noise is that the delicate organs in the inner ear become damaged often resulting in high frequency hearing loss and tinnitus.
The cochlea is the organ which becomes damage. We have very good results treating this type of tinnitus Mary, and you can reasonably look forward to relief from the ringing in the ears and tinnitus.
