Client Asked
My tinnitus details are a constant hissing in my right ear, occasional fullness or pressure in that ear as well. I've never experienced vertigo, but have been told by an ENT that I have a Meniere's condition. (not full blown meniere's disease) 2-I also have clicking in my right TMJ, along with neck and shoulder pain. 3-About once a week I get a pulsing sensation in my left ear, although this is not in tune with my heartbeat. (my cholesterol si good) It last from 1-10 hours. 4-At times I hear a slight hissing in the left ear as well.(This gets worse if I have a bad headache) 5-I have suffered from allergies since childhood. I've always heard clicking when swallowing, and have always has sinus pressure.
Our Response:
Hello Ralph,
Tinnitus which presents as a constant hissing in the ear is typical of cochlear damage. When one suffers from Meniere's Disease you also experience tinnitus which is caused from cochlear damage. You are indeed fortunate that you do not have the episodes of vertigo and dizziness as these are very debilitating.
You will find that by following a low sodium diet you can control the fullness in the ear to a large degree. We can help a lot with the tinnitus you are experiencing and I have explained this in detail in the link below.
