Client Asked:
My tinnitus is a sustained, high-pitched sound, exactly like the kind emitted from the flyback transformer on a television set. I can slightly alter the pitch by clenching my teeth or contracting my major muscles. Most noticeable at night, just before going to bed. It seems to be attended by a slight hearing loss. I'm 48, an amateur rock guitarist, and prior to the onset of the tinnitus an
audiophile.
Our Response:
Hello Joshua,
It is good to hear from you and I am confident that we can help you get relief from your tinnitus.
It is important to take the correct tinnitus relief remedy, in order to achieve lasting effective relief from tinnitus. When an external sound is heard the thousands of small hairs in the cochlea are stimulated.
When a noise is heard by the ears and these small hairs move, impulses are sent through the nerve which your brain interprets as sound.
Agition then result in a stirring of all those minuscule hair nerve cell, much like a field of wheat on a farm moving in time with the wind.
These minute hair cells and those infinitesimal auditory nerves get damaged easily when subjected to loud noises. Obviously those that are unfortunate enough to work in a noisy place or visit loud places over a period of time will experience more damage.
The inner ear and its delicate structures are also easily damaged by a severe blow to the head If damage happens and the cilia are broken or bent they can send random signals to the brain which are interpreted as a sound even though none is present.
Noise related cochlear damage tinnitus which can cause a ringing in the ears often is a result of ear wax removals, a procedure known as ear candling, swimming incidents, hurting yourself playing sports, dental surgery.
Damage to hearing is incurable however the ringing in the ears treatments have been very successful at dramatically and permanentlylowering the tinnitus levels from a damaged cohlea.
From what you have told me there is no doubt that your tinnitus is as a result of cochlear damage. The inner ear structures are extremely sensitive and delicate and exposure to loud noise is a major cause of this damage, which always results in tinnitus. The sound of the noise that you hear and the slight hearing loss and the fact that you are involved in the music industry and have been exposed to loud noise, definitely confirms this.
We have an excellent rate of success in the treatment of this particular type of tinnitus, in fact it is 85%.
