Client Asked:
Tinnitus: Tinnitus started after I was struck across my head with either a baseball bat or very heavy tree branch by a mentally challanged youth when I was 9 yrs. old.
All I could remember is my mother shaking me (I was apparently knocked unconsious), yet I couldn't hear her voice or even the sounds of the traffic traveling down the main road where I was lying, all I heard at the time was the screaming, screaching sound of the affliction (tinnitus) that would haunt me my entire life, robbing me of so much.
I eventually did regain my hearing, although not all of it, but have never again heard that beautiful silence that practically everyone in the world just "takes for granted". My high pitched ringing is in both ears, and there are several "notes" that are not in perfect octaves.
I noticed the tinnitus got worse after mowing a friend's lawn about 3 yrs. later. The high pitched ringing also got worse after I became a drummer between age 16-27.
I am now 50 yrs. old, and would give almost anything to experience even a few moments of pure silence - without taking the drastic measure of severing my auditory nerve, of course ;)
Our Response:
Hello Russ,
First things first! Severing the auditory nerve will in no way guarantee freedom from the tinnitus noise your are afflicted with. In fact many people who suffer with tinnitus have suffered head trauma in motor accidents and had the auditory nerve severed in the accident. These are people with whom we have the least positive results!
Having said that, I do believe you can be at least a bit optimistic about getting tinnitus relief or at least a fairly dramatic lowering of the levels of intensity of the tinnitus noises.
The fact that you suffered such a severe blow to the head and immediately started hearing those screaming, screeching sounds along with hearing loss, means you obviously suffered severe cochlear damage right there and this damage to the cochlea is the root cause of your suffering from tinnitus for all these years.A little known fact is that there are literally millions of tiny hairs in the cochlea that are influenced by sound waves as a result of external noise.
When a sound gets discerned by the ears and these small hairs start moving, signals are sent through the auditory nerve which your brain interprets as sound.
The movements of the hairs in the cochlea can be likened to a field of long grass rippling in tune with the breeze.
These microscopic hair cells and those delicate auditory nerves get damaged easily when subjected to loud noises. The inner ear damage is all the more amplified if you are a habitual concert goer or worked in a loud environment for a long time.
Tinnitus from noise (cochlea damage tinnitus) is also caused by scuba diving accidents, swimming pool incidents, removals of ear wax etc.
Hearing loss is most certainly incurable nevertheless the tinnitus treatments have been very successful at reducing the tinnitus levels from a damaged cohlea.I think that much is fairly obvious Russ, would you agree?
Well our Type 4 tinnitus remedy is specifically formulated to treat precisely this type of tinnitus and we do have excellent results. I must stress that these tinnitus treatments are NOT an overnight magical cure and will need time to help you. In fact in view of the length of time you have had the tinnitus it is likely that you could need at least 6 months of tinnitus treatments to get that relief from the high pitched ringing is in both ears you have been experiencing all for these years.
