Hello Richard,
The tinnitus that results from exposure to loud noise or a blow to the head is probably the most common form of tinnitus. Our world is just getting noisier and nobody tells us of the dangers involved. We always seem to find out when it is too late.
Fortunately, we have excellent success in treating noise induced tinnitus and you have every reason to be optimistic about getting relief from tinnitus.
There are millions and millions of delicate nerve cells in the cochlea (deep in the inner ear) that get very stimulated by the enormous pressures of sound waves caused by external noise.
When a noise is noticed by your ears and those tiny hairs start moving, electric signals go streaking through the nerve which your brain interprets as sound.
When stimulation stimulates a stirring of all those minute hair nerve cell, remarkably like to a wheat field rustling in time with the breeze.
The infinitesimal nerve cells and those minuscule auditory nerves break very easily when you expose yourself to loud noise. The nerve damage is all the more intensified if you have listened to loud music for long periods of time.
These sensitive organs can also be damaged from a knock on the head. All those cilia often get bent out of shape or even busted then they send random pulses directly to the brain which interprets them as a noise, though there is none.
Cochlea damage hearing loss leading to chirping noises in the ears can also be caused from ear wax removals, ear candling, scuba diving, sport injury problems, surgery to the head, ears or nasal passages also as a result of ear infections.
