Tinnitus: Tinnitus is due to punctured eardrum close to 12 years ago with a q-tip. Since then I have been experiencing a ringing kind of like a bell/buzzing noise.
At times is sounds like when you can't quite get a station on the radio in completely. Added to this - I have been seeing a chiropractor for back problems.
I told him about my condition and he said that he may be able to help. He did about 7 or 8 adjustments and now my ringing is louder. UGH.

I thank you for your detailed information supplied herein. I cannot Stress the point enough that our ears are extremely delicate, and one has to be very gentle when cleaning them. You should never stick anything into your ears or up the ear canal. Q-Tips without you realizing it actually case damage to the cochlea. Type 4 tinnitus is actually a common form of tinnitus to suffer from.There are millions of tiny hairs housed in the cochlea that get affected when you hear an external sound.
When a noise is heard by the ears and these small hairs move, impulses are sent through the auditory nerve which your brain interprets as a noise.
These small hair cells and those tiny auditory nerves get damaged easily when subjected to loud noises. The damage is all the more amplified if you are a band member or worked in a loud environment for a long time.
The cochlea and its delicate structures are also easily damaged by a strong blow to the head Our cilia often get bent out of shape or even broken and then randomly send impulses directly to the brain which interprets them as a sound, although there is no sound present.
