Tinnitus: The tinnitus started with a ringing in my left ear.Currently, I am taking Atacand (Blood Pressure) and Tricor (Cholesteral). About three months ago, I started getting a ringing in my left ear.

My primary prescribed Antipyrine & Benzocaine eardrops, but it didn't help. Today, I was diagnosed by an Ear, Throat, and nose specialist with hearing loss in my left ear and he attributed my left ear ringing to the hearing losss.

I asked him if he could recommend a solution to the problem, but he said it was permanent and nothing could be done. He didn't check for possible infections in my ear (Nerves, Eardrum, etc.)which could have caused the ringing. Should I get a second diagnosis?

And are other treatments available for the condition that I was diagnosed with today? Permanent Damage is not something I was expecting to hear.

My wife and Myself would appreciate any assistance and recommendations you could provide.

Hello Michael,

I am glad to hear from you and will do my very best to assist you, in choosing the correct tinnitus relief remedy. Obviously this is important as one cannot expect effective lasting relief if the correct tinnitus medication is not taken.

Tinnitus can only be treated successfully if the root cause of the tinnitus is treated. This is not a " one size fits all " there are so many different causes of tinnitus and each specific cause has to be treated.When an external sound is experienced the many thousands of little hairs in the inner ear are stimulated.

As and when an external sound is picked up the minute hairs move and send signals through the auditory nerve which is interpreted as a sound by your brain.

These little hair cells and those easily damaged auditory nerves are easy to break when exposed to loud noises. The damage is all the more amplified if you are a band member or have worked in a loud environment for a long time.

Any type of surgery to the head can also cause tinnitus from cochlea damage.

Loss of hearing is not reversible but our cochlear damage remedies have successfully reduced the tinnitus levels of many thousands of tinnitus sufferers.

The ears and inner ear structures are very delicate and can therefore be damaged very easily, this damage is referred to as cochlea damage. The tinnitus from cochlea damage is normally accompanied by hearing loss in the higher frequencies. Michael, I am pretty sure that you are suffering with cochlea damage induced tinnitus.
