I have never had an injury that might have caused it although I have had bad ear infections at times and have always suffered from a sort of eczema of the ear canal.(Itchiness and flaking skin.)
The noise is a bit like the noise from a cricket.Sometimes I get a popping noise or some of the things you describe as being attributed to sinus/allergy problems.
Sometimes myears will pop and then I have a ringing sound for a few hours.That seems to be different to the constant ringing/ buzzing/ hissing type noise I have.
