Tinnitus: The tinnitus started in 1986 in the right ear. Doctor suspected head tumor and a CAT scan was done but found nothing. Tests also found hearing loss in the low frequency range.
The noise is a high-pitch "E" non-stop ringing that affected my sleep. Over the years I got used to it. My doctor told me it might be caused by nerve damage and he couldn't do anything.
I am at present on anti-hypertensive medication. I started this medication since 1988/9 but have been trying to select a suitable one reason being all the types that I tried caused a loss of libido.
Recently I changed from ZESTORETIC-20, a combination of lisinopril and a diuretic, to ZESTRIL 20mg, a lisinopril. I realized however after the switch that the ringing became louder.

The ear and inner ear structures are so fine, delictae and sensitive that damage can occur very easily. This damage is known as cochlea damage.When an external noise is heard the thousands of small hairs in the inner ear are stimulated.
When a noise is heard by the ears and these minute hairs start moving, signals go streaking through the nerve which your brain interprets as a sound.
Agition then result in a movement of all those minuscule hair nerve cell, very similar to a field of wheat on a farm swaying in time with the wind.
The cilia in the inner ear are easily broken from the huge pressures generated by extreme blasts of sounds. The damage is all the more amplified if you have played in a band or have worked in a loud environment for a long time.
The cochlea and its delicate structures are also damaged by a severe blow to the head Our cilia often get bent out of shape or even broken and then randomly produce electric pulses directly to the brain which interprets them as a sound, although there is no sound present.
Tinnitus from noise (cochlea damage tinnitus) is also often caused by scuba diving accidents, swimming incidents, ear wax removals etc.
