Thanks for your e-mail regarding Meniere's Disease. You stated that you believe you have caused some damage with a Q-Tip. This type of action can cause damage to the cochlea and will result in hearing loss and tinnitus but I do not believe it will cause Meniere's Disease.

As and when an external noise is detected the minute hairs move and send impulses through the auditory nerve which is interpreted as a sound by your brain.
