Client Asked:
I have had problems with tinnitus for years and no longer recall exactly when or why it started. Doctors are no help I've been tested a few times, and all they tell me is that I have excellent hearing! Whoopee - I hear too much too well!
The tinnitus is in both ears, 24/7 365... sounds like cicadas most of the time. Sometimes the tinnitus changes in pitch and tone. Of course tinnitus is worse at night.
I have had a few nasty bumps and blows over the years due to accidents or what not, I've gone to my share of loud clubs and concerts. I take Zocor for high cholesterol, have been on anti-depressants in the past - none for over 2 years.
I have a high-stress job running a Help Desk and have been under stress most of my life really, due to various life cirmcumstances.
I took various NSAIDS over the years because of undianosed endrometriosis, I've also had sinus problems for years and finally, just in the past 2 years have been diagosed w/ multiple allergies.... so you tell me, which treatment do I need for my tinnitus?
Just before I was married, I did have 4 wisdom teeth and 2 impacted molars taken out - that would have been around 1984. But I don't really recall when the tinnitus started.... seems like forever and certainly could have been as long as that.
Our Response:
Hello Pamela,
The tinnitus noises you have described in your e-mail to me are a clear indication that you are suffering from cochlea damage tinnitus. The cicada like noises are normally only experienced by people suffering with cochlea damage. When an external noise is heard the thousands of little hairs in the inner ear are stimulated.
When a noise is heard by the ears and these minute hairs move, signals go streaking through the nerve which your brain interprets as sound.
The agitation of the hairs in the cochlea can be likened to a field of grass rippling in tune with the wind.
These little hair cells and those infinitesimal auditory nerves get damaged easily when exposed to sudden loud noises. Obviously those that are unfortunate enough to work in a very loud environment or frequent noisy places over a period of time will experience more damage.
These sensitive organs can also be damaged from a knock on the head. The tiny hairs often get bent out of shape or broken and then randomly send impulses directly to the brain which interprets them as a sound, although there is no sound present.
Noise related cochlear damage tinnitus which can cause a ringing in the ears often is caused ear wax removals, ear candling, swimming accidents, hurting yourself playing sports, dental surgery.
Loss of hearing is not reversible but our noise tinnitus remedies have successfully reduced the tinnitus levels of many thousands of tinnitus sufferers.
