I see from your comments that you have been suffering from tinnitus for three months or longer. You also state that you were subjected to noise. This type of tinnitus is known as Type 4 tinnitus and is caused by damage to the cochlea in the inner ear.
I have explained this condition in more detail below.A little known fact is that there are thousands of small hairs in the cochlea that are moved by sound waves as a result of external sound.
Whenever an external noise is detected the tiny hairs move and send impulses via the auditory nerve which is interpreted as a sound by your brain.
Agition then cause a movement of all those minuscule hair nerve cells, much like a field of wheat on a farm swaying in tune with the wind.
The cilia in the cochlea are easily damaged from the huge pressures generated by sudden bursts of sounds. The inner ear damage is all the more amplified if you have played in a band or have worked in a loud environment for a long time.
Any type of surgery to the head can also result in tinnitus from cochlea damage.
Damage to hearing is most certainly incurable however the tinnitis treatments have been very successful at reducing the tinnitus levels from a damaged cohlea.
