Exposed to Loud Noises
Our Response:
Hello Jim,
Based on the limited information at my disposal I would recommend that you most likley suffering from Type 4 tinnitus which is the most common form of tinnitus. More than 80% of tinnitus sufferers do indeed experience this type of tinnitus.
It is caused by cochlear damage and is normally accompanied by some high frequency hearing loss.
I have explained cochlea damage in great detail below. When an external noise is heard the thousands of small hairs in the cochlea are stimulated.
When a noise is heard by the ears and these small hairs move, signals are sent through the nerve which your brain interprets as noise.
The hairs in the inner ear are easily broken from the huge pressures generated by extreme blasts of sounds. Obviously those that are unfortunate enough to work in a very loud environment or visit very noisy clubs over a period of time will experience more damage.
The inner ear and its delicate structures are also damaged by a strong blow to the head The tiny hairs often get bent out of shape or broken and then randomly transmit impulses directly to the brain which interprets them as a noise, although there is no sound present.
Tinnitus from noise (cochlea damage tinnitus) is also often a result of scuba diving accidents, swimming pool incidents, removals of ear wax etc.
Hearing loss is not reversible but our noise tinnitus remedies have successfully reduced the ear ringing levels of many thousands of tinnitus sufferers.
