Client Asked:
I have been exposed to loud noises for 5 or more years.
Our Response:
Hello Pat,
I am glad that you got in touch, as I am confident that we can help you get relief from your tinnitus. Exposure to loud noise is a major factor in causing damage which results in tinnitus. However we have achieved excellent results in treating this particular type of tinnitus which we refer to as type 4.There are thousands of tiny hairs housed in the inner ear that get affected when you hear noise.
When a noise is heard by the ears and these small hairs move, impulses are sent through the auditory nerve which your brain interprets as a noise.
The agitation of the hairs in the cochlea can be likened to a field of grass moving in tune with the breeze.
These microscopic hair cells and those tiny auditory nerves get damaged easily when exposed to loud noises. Obviously those that are unfortunate enough to work in a very loud environment or frequent very loud pubs over a period of time will suffer more damage.
These sensitive organs can also be damaged from a knock on the head. Our cilia often get bent out of shape or even broken and then randomly transmit impulses directly to the brain which interprets them as a noise, although there is no sound present.
Any type of surgery to the head can also result in noise induced tinnitus.
Loss of hearing is not reversible but our cochlear damage remedies have successfully lowered the ear ringing levels of many thousands of tinnitus sufferers.
