Client Asked:
The tinnitis noise is a high-pitched constant tone some times the pitch will go lower, but it is constant. The tinnitis is sometimes accompanied by a clogged ear. Tinnitis is only in the left ear. I am not sure when/how it developed. I take synthroid for hypothyroid condition. Received radiation treatment for hyperthryoid condition. Don't remember any blows or particularly loud conditions? What tinnitis remedy should I try?
Our Response:
Hello Nikki,
It is actually amazing how we all take our ears for granted and we actually do not realise how sensitive they are until a problem occurs.
The inner ear structures are so delicate and fine that it is so very easy for them to become damaged.
I have come accross several people that have had radiation treatment for one condition or another and most of them have also had cochlear damage induced tinnitus.
I think it could very well be the shock and trauma to the body that causes the damage.
Included below is a link where you can learn about inner ear cochlear damage and tinnitus, how it occurs, how to prevent cochlear damage and also how to treat tinnitus resulting from cochlea damage.
We have an excellent rate of success with this particular type of tinnitus and you can look forward to gettting the relief that you so deserve. There are millions of tiny hairs housed in the cochlea that move when you perceive an external sound.
As and when an external noise is picked up the minute hairs move and send impulses through the auditory nerve which is interpreted as a noise by your brain.
Agition then result in a stirring of all those minuscule hair nerve cell, much like a field of wheat on a farm moving in tune with the wind.
The hairs in the cochlea are easily broken from the pressures generated by sudden bursts of sounds. Obviously those that are unfortunate enough to work in a very loud environment or visit very noisy places over a period of time will experience more damage.
Any type of surgery to the head can also cause noise induced tinnitus.
Hearing loss is most certainly not reversible however the tinnitis remedies have been very successful at lowering the tinnitus levels from a damaged cohlea.
