When one is exposed to very loud noises such as playing the drums without protection it is very easy to cause cochlea damage. This in turn leads to high frequency hearing loss and and tinnitus.A little known fact is that there are thousands of small hairs in the inner ear that are affected by the great pressures of sound waves caused by external noise.
As and when an external noise is picked up the tiny hairs sway and send impulses through the auditory nerve which is interpreted as a noise by your brain.
The movements of the hairs in the cochlea can be likened to a field of long grass rippling in tune with the wind.
These minute hair cells and those infinitesimal auditory nerves are easy to break when exposed to loud noises. Obviously those that are unfortunate enough to work in a noisy place or visit loud places over a period of time will experience more damage.
Noise related cochlear damage tinnitus which can cause a ringing in the ears often is by ear wax removals, ear candling, swimming accidents, sports injuries, head or dental surgery.
Damage to hearing is incurable however the tinnitus remedies have been very successful at dramatically and permanently lowering the tinnitus levels from a damaged cohlea.
