It certainly seems that you are suffering with tinnitus and I would say that it has been caused due to Cochlea damage whic is a very common and major cause of tinnitus. Unfortunately we do not realise just how sensitive and delicate the inner ear is and damage can be done so easily.
There are certain medications (in fact many) that can cause tinnitus as a side effect, however I do not think that this is the case in your situation.
