Chris asked:

constant ringing, level varies, and occassional popping sound, which lasts for a few minutes at a time.My hearing doesnt seem to be affected that much. I tried a few recreational drugs last year for the first time, had a bad experience and now it sounds likely that tinnitus is the result. I have also been subjected to loud noises for long periods of time, 8-12hrs a day working on ships cutting and banging metal, and also the running engines.

Our Response:

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your questions regarding tinnitus from recreational drugs and exposure to noise. It is my belief, Chris, that the underlying cause of your tinnitus is in fact the result of cochlea damage sustained whilst working in that loud environment on the ships.

The inner damage that gets done in this type of environment is enormous and even though you did not experience tinnitus immediately, this is most likely to be the root cause of the tinnitus.

The fact that the tinnitus started after your experiment with recreational drugs simply indicates to me that this incident was merely a trigger for the tinnitus.

This phenomenon is explained in the cochlea damage tinnitus link below.

It is also possible that the experoment with recreational drugs has left toxins in your body which are aggravating the tinnitus. This can also happens simply from taking prescription medications that have tinnitus as a side effect.

I have also explained this in more detal below.

It is possible that in order to effectively treat your tinnitus condition you might need to take both remedies in conjunction with each other. (Type 4 for Noise and Type 8 for Drug induced tinnitus)
