Tinnitus: | My tinnitus entails, I am a 64 yer old (w) male, worked in the paper product Industry. I experienced sudden hearing loss in my right ear in 1978 and have had tinnitus ever since. I had a sever head injury in 1976 and perfrated my ear drum in a diving accident in 1982. For the last two months the sound of my heart beating in my left ear is so loud, I can't sleep. Is the sound of my heart pumping blood considered tinnitus or could I have other problems.
Hello Matt, It is likely that you are actually suffering from two types of tinnitus. Having worked in a noisy environment and had a severe blow to the head makes it almost certain that you suffered cochlear damage due to the loud noises at work. This was probably aggravated by the blow to the head and eas probably the trigger for the hearing loss and tinnitus you started experiencing. Matt, please click on the link below learn more about cochlear damage tinnitus. Hearing the sound of your heart beating in your ears is referred to as pulsatile tinnitus, and is often a sign of high cholesterol levels. What happens is that the arteries leading to and from the ear get fatty deposits which can cause a partial blockage and pulsatile tinnitus is the result. It is recommended that in view of the length of time you have suffered from tinnitus that you should order at least a three month supply of each remedy to treat your tinnitus condition. tinnitus |
