LEFT EAR 1995 Loss of hearing and gurgling sound. 1997 Diagnosed that Eustatian Tube was closed due to allergies?? 1997 Tube placed in ear drum & allergy medication given to no avail. 2001 Tinnitus started after a second drain tube was placed in ear. 2004 The high pitched smooth shrill & hissing sound has continued with or without a drain tube & has greatly reduced my hearing. Problems with allergies and the Eustachian tubes are very common and in most cases result in tinnitus. From what you have told me it seems very likely that you are suffering from two different types of tinnitus. I suspect that not only do you have Allergy induced tinnitus but I am fairly certain that you have cochlea damage induced tinnitus as well.
