It is possible that that tinnitus you are experiencing could be from two separate causes. You mention a surgery but do not mention what surgery was performed. If it was any form of head or dental surgery it is possible that the shock and noise of the procedure could have caused cochlear damage resulting in the tinnitus.The part of the brain and interconnected systems in the human brain, such as the Pons, the corpus callosum, the brain stem, the ventricular system do result in being the root cause of tinnitus.Ideally the choisest way to deal with stress related noises is to remove or modify the problems or situations that are responsible for the stress.
It is also possible that you were very worried abouth the surgery and that the resultant stress is the cause of your tinnitus.
