Stress will indeed aggravate cochlea damage tinnitus.The part of the brain and affiliated structures in the encephalon, such as the Pons, the pituitary fossa, the basal cisterns, the corpus callosum, the brain stem, the ventricular system all play a part in initiating tinnitus.
The hypothalamus is a unevolved section of the human brain situated below the 3rd ventricle. It controls many systems in the body, such as the pituitary gland.
Obviously the choisest way to deal with stress induced head ringing is to remove or modify the conditions or situations that are responsible for the stress.
