I have had all of the arteries checked including a heart cath. I have a constant heartbeat in my right ear. It is very frustrating because all of the doctors and specialist I have seen tell me to simply live with it and ignore it. Easier said than done. I'm now taking crestor and HCTZ. My blood pressure is within limits. I fell on my head from a tree (not a joke) when I was a child. One specialist said thru aging the artritis in my neck could be the cause of the heartbeat in my ear. It is very frustrating to hear every heartbeat, and when I exercise the pounding becomes more noticable.

Dear Bill,
I believe that you may be suffering from a condition known as Patulous Eustachian tubes. When this condition occurs, you will often hear your heart beating and also can hear an echoing sound as if the ears haven't or are not able to be cleared or equalized.
