The tinnitus started at least two years ago, although it was barely noticeable. It rarely or almost never caused any problems or distractions. I have always been aware of this problem and always wear ear plugs or cotton on my ears if I'm in a noisy environment. It's ironic that this is happening to me, since I love music and I always protected my ears. I'm from Argentina, South America, and moved to FL, USA, three years ago. I believe the stress of moving, leaving my family behind, a new culture/job, etc... triggered the problem and made it worse. I also seem to suffer from hyperacusis, as my ears are extremely sensitive now (it even seems like I have BETTER hearing now than before). A recent audiology test recently confirmed that I had perfect hearing. The Tinnitus is not as bad as most people here describe it (I only notice it at night, in complete silence, or if I try to "look for it"), however it has been getting worse since this Spring. I believe it may be related to allergy problems, since I'm now also taking Clarythin D and the symptoms you describe in TYPE 3 are EXACTLY what I experience (particularly the ringing tone in the affected ear which comes and goes periodically, lasting a few seconds at a time.) However, I wasn't aware that I was allergic to anything until this Spring. So my Type may be another one. Please help. My Tinnitus is currently there all the time. It's tolerable, but I want to see if it's possible to get rid of it. Thank you. Looking forward to your reply and help.

I am happy to hear from you and feel certain that we can help you with your tinnitus condition.The fact that your tinnitus was barely noticeable and was then aggravated due to the stress of moving, is very common. In addition your tinnitus has worsened since Spring due to allergies, would seem to confirm that you have a problem with your Eustachian Tubes and this often results in tinnitus. Esteban, the fact that your ears are extremely sensitive to noise and your hearing is so sharp would suggest that you are suffering with Hyperacusis in addition to the Eustachian Tube problem.It's very normal for individuals who have sinus problems to occasionally experience tintinitus symptoms. This is because the mucous builds up and eventually blocks the interior ear canal which causes pressure and leads to the ear ringing symptoms. This extra build up of pressure can not only cause tinnitus but also some middle ear infections.Sufferers of sinusitis, rhinitis and allergies will certainly at some time in their lives hear tintinitus noises. Tinnitus from sinus may also be caused by your body reacting to drugs, antibiotics or antihistamines. After long periods of taking antibiotics or antihistamines to control the sinus problems tintinitus is often noticed. It is the antibiotics and antihistamines that cause the mucous in the middle ear to become too thick and viscous to easily drain clear through the very tight Eustachian tubes. Due to the Eustachian tubes being very tight this extra build up of mucous in the middle ear canal will start causing problems and maybe even tinnitus.My recommendation to you, is to take two separate and distinct tinnitus relief remedies to effectively treat and relieve your tinnitus.
