I have had tinnitus as long as I can remember even back to early elementry school years during hearing tests when the tones used in the tests were the same sounds I was already hearing and thinking that it was normal and that everyone heard these sounds.when I was a child I did have ear infections as told to me by my mother and still have them today sometimes as secondary infections from hayfever and the like of allergies.
At times these sounds seem to lower or rise much like a volume knob is being turned up or down, sometimes this happens very fast and can at times make me flinch or put my hand to my ear suddenly.Recently my 10 year old daughter has said that she has the same thing she has had some of the same symptoms that I listed for myself.
