Anita
asked:
I had some sinus problems about 1 month ago. After my
sinuses cleared is when I noticed the ringing in my ears. I also have
TMJ. I have been to a medical doctor, a chiropractor and Otolaryngologist
in the past week.
My loss of hearing is only 1/8 of a decibel. I have
been told not to worry about it for the present, however, the ringing
in the ears has increased. I am very upset about it and do not know where
to turn for help.
Medications:synthroid, lipitor and amitriptyline. I took at the time Aleve,
cold and sinus, but that did not help. I also take Aleve on a regular
basis and Motrin at times for headaches.
I was told they would not cause tinnitis.
Our
Response:
Dear Anita,
I know that you marked sinus, allergies and nasal problems however I
do not believe that sinus is not the root cause of your tinnitus.
When one suffers with TMJ it results in cochlea damage tinnitus and this
was probably been triggered by the sinus infection that you had. Fortunately
we have an excellent success rate in treating this particular type of
tinnitus.
