Our response:
Hello Norsham,
I am glad that you got in touch with us and I will do my best to assist you. It is obviously very important in order to take the correct tinnitus relief medication in order to get effective tinnitus relief. The ears and inner ear structures are extremely delicate and sensitive and damage can happen very easily. There are millions of small hairs housed in the cochlea that move when you perceive an external sound.
When a noise is heard by the ears and these minute hairs start moving, impulses go streaking through the nerve which your brain interprets as noise.
The agitation of the hairs in the inner ear can be likened to a field of long grass moving in time with the breeze.
These minute hair cells and those tiny auditory nerves are easy to break when exposed to sudden loud noises. Obviously those that are unfortunate enough to work in a very loud environment or visit very noisy places over a period of time will suffer further damage.
Tinnitus from noise (cochlea damage tinnitus) is also often a result of scuba diving accidents, swimming pool incidents, removals of ear wax etc.
Hearing loss is not reversible nevertheless the tinnitis treatments have been very successful at dramatically and permanently lowering the tinnitus levels from a damaged cohlea.
I did note that you mention Sinus, when one suffers from sinus infections it can also result in cochlea damage. It would seem that your tinnitus is a result of cochlea damage which was probably caused by the Flu that you had.Cochlea damage induced tinnitus also causes hearing loss in the higher frequencies.
