The tinnitus causes a constant buzzing or humming sounds in both ears...
Client asked:
Tinnitus: The tinnitus causes a constant buzzing or humming sounds in both ears; I would say it began in my mid to late 50s; there was no particular event associated with its onset that I can recall.
I believe an audiologist who examined me back then said I had nerve damage and that there was nothing that could be done. I do have some hearing loss, particularly high frequency sound, and I have trouble hearing when there is a lot of background noise.
In terms of causes I was exposed to shipboard gunfire in the early 1960s. I am a type O blood type with, I think, high acid level. I am trying to decide whether I have type 1 or 2 tinnitus.
Our response:
Hello Larry,
You have hit the nail on the head! Your exposure to the gunfire many years agao, has caused damage to the inner ear structure which has resulted in the buzzing and humming sounds that you hear which is tinnitus. There are thousands of little hairs housed in the cochlea that move when you hear noise.
Whenever an external noise is picked up the tiny hairs move and send impulses through the auditory nerve which is interpreted as a noise by your brain.
Agition then result in a stirring of all those little hair nerve cells, much like a field of wheat on a farm shifting in tune with the wind.
These microscopic hair cells and those delicate auditory nerves get damaged easily when subjected to loud noises. The damage is all the more amplified if you have played in a band or have worked in a loud environment for a long time.
These sensitive organs can also be damaged from a knock on the head. If damage happens and those tiny hairs are broken or bent they can send random impluses to the brain which are interpreted as a sound even though none is present.
Tinnitus from noise (cochlea damage tinnitus) is also a result of scuba diving accidents, swimming incidents, removals of ear wax etc.
Hearing loss is not reversible but our noise tinnitus remedies have successfully reduced the ear ringing levels of many thousands of tinnitus sufferers.
In order to achieve effective lasting tinnitus relief it is important to take the correct tinnitus relief remedy. I see that you are undecided between type 1 and type 2 tinnitus, however neither of these is the correct tinnitus relief treatment for your condition.
Your exposure to loud noise has caused cochlea damage and this is often confused with nerve damage. In addition you mention hearing loss in the higher frequencies and this always accompanies cochlea damage induced tinnitus.
