Client asked:
Tinnitus: My tinnitus began to be noticable when I was exposed to a strong repercussion from stiking a heavy wood beam with a sledge hammer next to my head.
The ear away from the beam is the one effected, but I lost a large part of my hearing as well. I describe it as a constant roaring in my ear.
Our response:
Hello Jim,
Thank you for the information regarding your tinnitus, I will do my best to assist you by helping you choose the correct tinnitus relief remedy in order for you to get effective lasting tinnitus relief. There are millions of tiny hairs situated in the cochlea that move when you hear an external sound.
As and when an external sound is detected the tiny hairs move and send signals via the auditory nerve which is interpreted as a sound by your brain.
These minute hair cells and those easily damaged auditory nerves are easy to break when subjected to sudden loud noises. The damage is all the more amplified if you are a habitual concert goer or worked in a loud environment for a long time.
The cochlea and its delicate structures are also easily damaged by a strong blow to the head Our cilia often get bent out of shape or broken and then randomly produce electric pulses directly to the brain which interprets them as a noise, although there is no sound present.
Tinnitus from noise (cochlea damage tinnitus) is also often caused by scuba diving accidents, swimming pool incidents, removals of ear wax etc.
Hearing loss is incurable nevertheless the ringing in the ears treatments have been very successful at dramatically and permanently lowering the tinnitus levels from a damaged cohlea.
The inner ear structures are vcery delicate and sensitive and there is no doubt that damage occurred as a result of the incident you experienced with the sledgehammer.
This is cochlea damage and always results in tinnitus.Cochlea damage induced tinnitus also causes hearing loss in the higher frequencies.
