Tinnitus: The tinnitus started about 1 month ago and it sounds like a group of cicada, high pitched noise that is pretty loud. My backgroung is textile manufacturing with lots of loud machinery. I noticed 20 years ago some hearing loss and it may have gotten a little worse the last 5 years.
I sometimes will describe the sound as a high pitch frequency like you would hear if you were standing near a power transformer. Hopefully the information will be of help. Get back with me with the type so I can find some relief!

Working with loud machinery will affect your ears and could cause you to suffer from tinnitus. The sounds that you are hearing are associated with cochlea damage.
