Tinnitus: The tinnitus started after I had ear surgery 17 years ago - placing the tubes in my left ear for drainage. I woke up with tinnitus. Several doctors have told me that this surgery is not associated with tinnitus, but I have it. I have been able to cope pretty good with it until this past August. Something was happening to my right ear which led to extreme stress and then I noticed pressure in my left ear (the one with tinnitus) an extremely stressful experience for me. So for about 7 weeks I was under stress 24, 7. This has changed the tone of the tinnitus and now I am fully aware of it again. It used to be a low hissing, steamy sound in the background, now it's a high pitch. Will this go back to the way it was. I wasn't aware that this could change. I have no hearing loss, no nerve damage and good pressure.
